Dr. Jonathan Choi is a neurosurgeon utilizing the latest technology and techniques for minimally invasive spine surgeries and brain surgeries.
He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004 and Duke University School of Medicine in 2008. He completed a neurosurgical residency at Duke University in 2014 where he was trained using the latest minimally invasive spine techniques such as the extreme lateral interbody fusion (XLIF) and percutaneously placed pedicle screw fixation. He also has performed spinal cord stimulation surgeries for chronic back and leg pain in addition to brain surgery and peripheral nerve surgery, such as for carpal tunnel syndrome.
Dr. Choi is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is on staff at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Monterey Peninsula Surgery Center, and Natividad Medical Center. Dr. Choi serves on the Natividad Medical Center Trauma Quality Review Committee and System Improvement Committee to help improve the quality of trauma care provided to the Monterey County community.
Dr. Choi resides in Carmel, Calif., with his wife. He enjoys hiking, bodyboarding, surfing, and traveling.
